What it is
Turner Contemporary is a free public art gallery overlooking Margate Main Sands. The building—by architect Sir David Chipperfield—is a cluster of six translucent volumes that catch the sea light, with spaces sized for major contemporary shows and Turner-related displays.

Getting there
Train & bus
- HS1/Southeastern trains to Margate. From the station it’s a flat seafront walk to the gallery.
- Buses stop at Cecil Square (Loop, 8/8A/8X, 32, 36), then stroll down to the harbour—gallery is opposite.

- Rendezvous Car Park is the nearest. It’s roughly a 2–5 minute walk depending on route and pace; 24/7 access, EV chargers, motorcycle bays.
