Folk & Pride Week August 2017

[Total: 1 Average: 5]

We have 2 week long events starting this weekend, I will go straight into it.

Folk Week has something for you.

There’s hardly a venue that isn’t bursting with song, music and dance. You can find Folk Week in the town park, the Pavilion on the Sands, the Sailing Club, historic Crampton Tower and the Baptist Centre –and in loads of pubs and cafes – it’s a great way of getting to know Broadstairs! The Festival campsite is a great place to meet friends – old and new. All venues are within walking distance – although we admit that getting down the hill to the sea is easier than getting back up!

Dates: 11th – 18th August

The festival campsite is located at Charles Dickens school, situated within walking distance of the town. There are two level well-drained fields connected by a path. The fields are marked out with wide aisles and plenty of space.

Camping on the Festival site is ONLY available with a Festival Ticket.

Margate Pride

Margate Pride is a culture-rich contemporary Pride – a celebration of all of Thanet’s queerness & LGBTQI life, a chance for everyone to celebrate liberation – gay, straight, everything, nothing and all the in-between!

With an estimated 2000 visitors planning the journey to Margate Pride this year Pride will have a positive impact on the East Kent celebrating alternative culture, community activism and local & international talent.

Dates: 8th – 13th August (Rally is on Saturday)
