Stay at home... In the interest of the health and safety of our residents and visitors during the COVID-19 outbreak, we are currently Safer staying at home.
Visitors are asked to NOT visit the Beach at this time, but rather reschedule or plan for a future visit when this health threat passes.

Currently Thanet has no provisions for visitors.
- no public toilets, they are closed..
- limited parking for local resident..
- shops are closed..

We ask you to not visit the beaches at this time.

Join the festive revelries as the Mayor’s parade moves through the town. Starting at Margate Clock Tower (4pm), winding through the town (4.15pm) and Old Town (4.50pm), and ending at Turner Contemporary (5.30pm), see the trees of the town light up and begin Margate’s official Christmas countdown. The boutique shops, cafes and restaurants will be open for you to find unique gifts and sample delicious food and drink.

Come to Turner Contemporary for our Christmas light switch on at 5.30pm, where the Theatre Royal’s Aladdin pantomime cast help us countdown to the big moment, plus the Big Sing Community Choir will be performing from 5pm with sing-a-long carols.
